About the Position🛰️
The selected candidate will actively contribute to the manufacturing and industrialization of Arkadia’s propulsion components and products, including thrusters and associated components, working side-by-side with design and integration teams and maintaining close contact with hardware throughout the full development cycle.
The role demands a hands-on and process-oriented mindset, with strong technical foundations in welding, machining, and fabrication of high-precision aerospace components. The candidate will be involved in all stages of the manufacturing process, from planning and supplier coordination to production, integration, and validation.
What you'll be doing
- Definition and optimization of manufacturing and fabrication processes, including machining, welding, brazing, surface treatment/coatings, and assembly
- Development, qualification and implementation of welding processes for metallic components used in propulsion systems
- Definition of technical documentation, like work instructions and inspection protocols
- Close collaboration with design engineers to ensure manufacturability, assembly feasibility and design-for-manufacturing compliance
- Interface with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure process control, quality assurance and schedule compliance
- Implementation of continuous improvement plans based on lessons learned from development and production
- Identification and qualification of new suppliers, contributing to the expansion and diversification of the supply chain
- Contribution to internal process standardization and those aspects of the product and quality assurance plan related to fabrication and production
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace, mechanical or industrial engineering
- Relevant experience (>3 years) in manufacturing engineering roles in aerospace or high-tech industries
- Experience in welding and brazing processes development and qualification
- Knowledge of machining processes and manufacturing tolerances
- Familiarity with surface treatment processes
- Experience in technical drawing interpretation and GD&T
- Familiarity with quality tools and manufacturing process validation
- Proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate in an international environment
- Fluent in Spanish
- Proactive mindset and strong attention to detail
Nice to have
- Previous experience with space hardware manufacturing
- Hands-on experience in the assembly and integration of complex subsystems (mechanical, fluidic or propulsion-related)
- Familiarity with ECSS standards
- Experience with Odoo ERP
